Bone Density Recovery with DMPA
Depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) is a highly effective progestin-only contraceptive that is widely used by adolescents. DMPA is also associated with suppression of ovarian production of estradiol, and with a decrease in bone density in some users. -
Making a Dent in Teen Pregnancy Rates
This is a small U.S.-based clinical trial of 23 adolescent women (ages 14-18) randomized to levonorgestrel-releasing vs Copper T intrauterine device (IUD). -
