AHRQ Issues Report on the Safety and Effectiveness of Melatonin Supplements
A evidence review conducted in 2004 by health and human services' (HHS) agency for healthcare research and quality found that melatonin supplements, which people often take for problems sleeping, appear to be safe when used over a period of days or weeks, at relatively high doses and in various formulations. -
Melatonin as an Anti-Aging Remedy?
Claims that melatonin can slow or reverse aging are very far from proven. Studies of melatonin have been much too limited to support these claims and have focused on animals, not people.
