Measles introductions are disruptive and costly in U.S. hospitals, and in many areas of the world children are at risk of this potentially deadly, highly contagious disease. In addition to fighting measles, Doctors without Borders is out in the field doing things like providing anti-retroviral therapy for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
I think I’ve got one credit card left that isn’t maxed out, so here’s three cheers and a few bucks for these docs. Call it global infection prevention or plain good will, but we know any infectious disease anywhere is just a plane ride away from our doors. Keep the faith.
