SynCardia Systems (Tucson, Arizona), a developer of cardiac replacement and assist devices, in mid-October received final FDA approval for its CardioWest Temporary Total Artificial Heart (TAH-t) formerly the CardioWest Total Artificial Heart as a bridge to heart transplantation.
