ASCs: No change in Medicare payment for now
For the 2006 fiscal year (FY), Medicare payment rates and wage index values for services provided in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) will remain unchanged.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services says that until the agency has determined the impact of changes in the FY 2006 inpatient hospital wage index on payment amounts for individual ASCs, implementation of new wage index values for fiscal year 2006 is deferred.
