CIGNA reinstates doctors in response to lawsuit
CIGNA HealthCare of Connecticut is reinstating nine physicians it dropped from its health plan four years ago as a result of a settlement of a lawsuit that had gone to the Connecticut Supreme Court, according to the Hartford Courant.
Attorneys for both sides refused to comment on terms of the settlement, but it involves CIGNA's re-enlisting the Connecticut specialists involved in the suit and paying them an undisclosed sum, the Courant reports.
CIGNA dropped the specialists from its network in 1994. The physicians and their patients sued the health plan as a result.
