Proposed tougher requirements monitoring the shipment and receipt of infectious agents would apply to the following viruses, bacteria, and toxins, as proposed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
*Viruses:
-- crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever
-- chikungunya
-- ebola
-- Hantavirus
-- Japanese encephalitis
-- lassa fever
-- marburg
-- rift valley fever
-- tick-borne encephalitis
-- variola major (Smallpox)
-- yellow fever virus
-- South American Haemorrhagic fever (Junin, Machupo, Sabia, Guanarito, and those yet to be described)
-- encephalitis (Venezuelan, Western, Eastern)
-- kyasanur forest disease
* Bacteria:
-- Bacillus anthracis
-- Brucella abortus, B. melitensis, B. suis
-- Chlamydia psittaci
-- Clostridium botulinum
-- Francisella tularensis
-- Burkholderia (Pseudomonas) mallei
-- Burkholderia (Pseudomonas) pseudomallei
-- Yersinia pestis
*Rickettsiae:
-- Coxiella burnetii
-- Rickettsia prowazekii
-- Rickettsia rickettsii
* Fungi:
