Douglas Chaet named MCS consulting editor
Douglas L. Chaet, president of the American Association of Physician-Hospital Organizations/Integrated Delivery Systems, has been named consulting editor of Managed Care Strategies newsletter.
Chaet, one of the nation’s leading experts in the successful administration of managed care health care, will provide MCS with the background to make sure we’re meeting our most basic goal: helping our readers
Chaet, president and chief executive officer of the Lenox Hill Physician-Hospital Organization in New York City is responsible for directing the managed care initiatives and health care integration of Lenox Hill Hospital and its 350 affiliated physicians. Before he took that position, he played an instrumental role in forming one of the first PHOs in the country the Piedmont Healthcare Organization in Atlanta. In his role as president and CEO of that organization, he devised what has now become one of the most widely used capitation models in the country for provider risk sharing. Before that, he spent more than a decade developing networks throughout the East Coast for several health care organization.
Chaet is a graduate of the University of South Florida and a diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
