Medical supply company caters to homebound
Finding a reliable and affordable supplier of disposable medical supplies can be a challenge for many private duty clients. One family realized this firsthand; disposable medical supplies needed for a debilitated parent often were hard to locate or scattered in different locations.
To help other families in this situation, sisters Mary and Patricia Curry created CurryCare, a Cupertino, CA-based company that provides one-stop shopping and delivery of disposable medical supplies.
CurryCare’s catalog carries products such as incontinence and urological supplies, bedding, daily living aids, supplies for wound and skin care, ostomy and diagnosis supplies, nutritional items, and gifts. Nothing in the catalog requires a doctor’s prescription.
The company’s prices tend to be 10% to 15% lower than pharmacy prices, according to company president Patricia Curry. Delivery typically takes two days, and shipping is free on orders more than $25.
If a requested product is not listed in the catalog, callers will be told where to get the product, or CurryCare will try to get the product itself. The company also has a list of organizations and caregiver support groups that the caller can contact for further advice and support.
For more information about CurryCare, call (800) 720-7440. Clients also can place an order through this number during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays PST.
