HFMA releases health care corporate compliance videos
Following on the heels of its sold-out compliance conference in September, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) is offering a series of videos to help health care executives design and implement corporate compliance programs. The conference and videos are in response to the recent federal investigations into hospital and clinical laboratory billing practices for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. The HFMA Compliance Videos are "a collection of the who, what, when, where, why, and how of compliance — straight from the mouths of the Inspector General and nationally known experts," HFMA president and CEO Richard L. Clarke, FHFMA, said in a statement.
The series of five videos cost $295 for HFMA members and $395 for nonmembers. Viewers will learn their professional responsibilities and liabilities regarding corporate compliance. The videos will show how to implement an effective corporate compliance plan; offer practical advice and solutions from legal counsel, compliance officers, and health care consultants; and inform viewers where to turn for guidance if billing errors are found.
The association, based in Westchester, IL, also offers HFMA Compliance Watch, an annual subscription service that compiles articles and government documents regarding compliance issues.
