New association formed for health care education
Organization replaces ASHET
The Philadelphia-based Health Care Education Association (HCEA) is a new organization created to replace the American Society for Healthcare Education and Training (ASHET), which disbanded in fall 1997. The former ASHET board members are overseeing the start-up process and will serve HCEA until elected leaders can be installed.
Currently, discounted inaugural membership rates are being offered for $39. A second option is to join as a patron/founding member for $250. This fee puts members in the Founding Class of Members and contributes to the financial resources necessary to start the new organization. Those in the Founding Class of Members will have their name engraved on the charter member plaque and receive a discount for the association’s first national conference scheduled for Nov. 12-15, 1998, in Atlanta.
