Nominations sought for ulcer honor
The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) is accepting nominations for the Kosiak Award. The award was created to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the prevention and/or management of pressure ulcers through their leadership in research, education, or patient care.
The award is named in honor of Michael Kosiak, MD, for his original contributions to the understanding of the etiology of pressure ulcers. Winners of the award can choose a scholarship fund to which a $1,000 donation will be made.
Nominations for the Kosiak Award should be sent to the NPUAP by Aug. 31. Each nomination should consist of a detailed letter describing the accomplishments of the nominee in the areas of research, education, and/or patient care; a complete curriculum vitae of the nominee; and two letters of endorsement from knowledgeable colleagues. Only nominees who are United States citizens and whose complete nomination packets are received by the deadline will be considered.
Mail nominations (do not fax) to NPUAP, 1321 Duke St., Suite 304, Alexandria, VA, 22314-3563.
