New organization helps office surgery programs
A new, for-profit subsidiary created by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities will help office-based surgery programs improve their efficiency and comply with requirements of different regulatory bodies and accreditation organizations.
A web-based product that helps facilities with compliance is available through the subsidiary, Surgery Facilities Resources (SFR). Group purchasing arrangements as well as international accreditation is being explored. A system to identify qualified consultants that can help new facilities in the design, construction, and accreditation phases also is being pursued, according to Jeff Pearcy, executive vice president of SFR.
