The Joint Commission has recently expanded the pilot testing of its WikiHealthCare application to include a collaborative approach to developing accreditation standards. Visitors to the site can provide input at the early stages of standards development. Participants can engage in discussions about emerging setting-specific issues, help determine how standards might be applied to address those issues, and suggest performance requirements that should be used to measure compliance. The Joint Commission will use this collective input when developing accreditation standards.
